Apprentice TV Show commercial

On the heels of the controversial"firing" of "Street Smarts" Project Manager Kristen Kirchner on NBC's hitreality series, The Apprentice 3, an alleged copycat of the commercialproduced by her losing team is being used by Colgate-Palmolive to promoteMennen Sport, their bodywash for men sold in France. According to Kirchner, the characteristics of the thirty second spots are too similar forcoincidence, including the storyline of a marathon runner lathering-up withbodywash mid-race and crossing the finish line first and the funky musicsoundtrack. This is the first time in the show's history that such a bold, unauthorized duplication of an idea originated by the cast has surfaced. "I cannot help but recognize the flattery of Colgate-Palmolive copying ourcommercial concept; however, it is definitely overshadowed by the irony thatTrump fired me in part because he considered our commercial, 'terrible,'" saidKirchner. As previously announced, to demonstrate her skills, Kirchner is completingproduction on a personally financed re-shoot of the Dove Moisturizing Bodywashcommercial (featuring a brand new concept) that ultimately got her fired. Thethirty-second spot continues to be shot on multiple, undisclosed SouthernCalifornia locations and will be released in early May.
